The Disaster Case Manager plays a pivotal role in helping disaster-affected individuals and families navigate the recovery process. You will provide personalized assistance by assessing needs, developing recovery plans, and connecting clients to critical resources and services.

Responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive client intake and assessments to identify disaster-related needs
Developing individualized recovery plans in collaboration with clients
Coordinating resources and services, including housing, financial assistance, and mental health support
Maintaining detailed case notes and documentation in compliance with program guidelines
Advocating on behalf of clients with service providers and community organizations
Monitoring client progress and providing ongoing support to achieve recovery goals
Participating in community outreach and education activities as needed
Adhering to confidentiality and ethical standards in all client interactions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Emergency Management, Psychology, or a related field
2+ years of experience in case management, social services, or disaster recovery
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of local, state, and federal disaster recovery programs, including FEMA and CDBG-DR, is a plus

Supervisory Oversight
Lead, mentor, and support a team of Disaster Case Managers to ensure consistent and effective service delivery
Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to develop team members professionally
Monitor and report on program metrics, case outcomes, and team performance to stakeholders
Community Coordination
Establish and maintain partnerships with service providers, local organizations, and government agencies to support client needs
Represent the organization at community outreach events and meetings
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate program documentation and ensure team compliance with confidentiality and ethical standards
Coordinate team schedules and workload distribution to optimize efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Emergency Management, Psychology, or a related field
4+ years of experience in case management, social services, or disaster recovery, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of FEMA, CDBG-DR, and other disaster recovery programs is highly desirable

Develop and analyze utilization reports to ensure costs align with approved budgets
Monitor program expenditures to prevent overspending and ensure compliance with financial policies
Expense Report Reviews
Review and approve expense reports submitted by team members, verifying accuracy and adherence to program requirements
Identify and address discrepancies in financial documentation
Grant Financial Reporting
Prepare and oversee all required financial reports under the grant
Ensure timely submission of reports, meeting all compliance and audit requirements
Financial Analysis and Support
Provide financial insights and recommendations to program leadership to improve cost management
Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and cost analyses as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
3+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or grant management
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred)
Familiarity with grant financial management, including federal disaster recovery programs like FEMA and CDBG-DR, is a plus
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
